Prophet Abraham was a Refugee

Prophet Abraham was a Refugee

Father Abraham moves from a place in Iraq to an area near Jerusalem. He then flees to Egypt. He becomes a refugee… Next week: “Jesus the Refugee”.

The refugee crisis is impacting our world today. It will be affecting all of us for years to come.

The book of James in the Bible does have something to add to our response to refugees.

James, the brother of Jesus, stresses our responsibility to reach out to the needy with care and compassion. He reveals that the ongoing care of the weak is a means of displaying God’s presence within the world. It shows truth and obedient following of God’s command and His heart. Reaching out and caring for suffering refugees is a way to show the presence of God in this world.
